A meeting of Produce Guild members was held on July 23rd 1948 to discuss the starting of a village stall in Bishops Waltham.
It was unanimously decided that a stall should be started as soon as possible, Mr Stainer was prepared to let us use his shop once a week for a small charge.
To cover initial expenses, 5/- shares were issued, and a committee was formed.
1949 It was decided to apply for a cake making licence.
1951 A meeting was held at the new shop in Red Lion Street to discuss affiliation to NFWI this was carried and we would have to pay 1% of annual turnover.
The Market is still running to this day and we look forward to a prosperous future
