Bishops Waltham Country Market is part of the Country Markets network of over 450 local markets in England, Wales and the Channel Islands. Country Markets Ltd is a nationwide friendly co-operative enterprise, previously known as WI Markets. It is a non profit-making organisation - after expenses, all proceeds are returned to the producers. It provides a retail outlet for Market members to sell their high quality, home-made produce. Each Market is individually managed at local level by a committee elected by the members and is overseen by the county Market (in our case, Hampshire Country Market). The county Market is run by a committee formed from members of the local Market Management Representatives, and all Markets have to comply with legal requirements and the stringent high standards set by Head Office. All cooks must have an up-to-date Food Hygiene Certificate.
Each Market is individual, in both the variety of produce on offer and the specialities of the Producers in that area.
Bishops Waltham Country Market has a long history of trading in Bishops Waltham. We are very fortunate to have many loyal customers, some of whom have been visiting us for many years since our days in the market square. We do, however, always extend a warm welcome to all our new customers, both local and visitors to our market town. 
Bishops Waltham Country Market is held every Friday morning from 9.30am to 11.00am at the Jubilee Hall, Little Shore Lane in Bishops Waltham. We sell a wide range of home-baked goods - cakes, pies, biscuits and savouries; as well as seasonal fruit, vegetables, plants & cut flowers, jams, preserves, honey, free range eggs and a selection of hand-made crafts; all of which have been home-produced or grown by our Market producers living in and around Bishops Waltham.
At our Market, we operate a simple procedure that avoids each helper having to handle money. When you arrive, a purchase card will be given to you on your way in. Whenever you make a selection, hand this card to the helper or producer, who will add the price and details of the item to it. On your way out, simply hand your card to the cashier at the cash desk, where you then pay for everything in a single transaction. We are pleased to take cheques with a valid bank card. Our home-cooked foods are freshly made using good quality ingredients and, wherever possible, free from artificial preservatives. We know exactly what ingredients have been used in our products, so please ask if you have concerns. We sell a wide selection of home-made jams and preserves, many of which are unusual varieties that you will not find elsewhere. We do not use artificial sweeteners, flavourings or preservatives in these. We also endeavour to meet individual tastes and requirements, to order. If you have a favourite type of cake or savoury you cannot buy anymore, let us know and we will try to bake it for you. It is now possible to order online.
Fresh, local Produce
Our fruit and vegetables producers grow their produce for their own consumption as well as for sale in the market and are, therefore, very careful about what, if anything, they put on their crops. The produce is picked as close to market day as possible, so you can be assured of its freshness as all of it has been grown locally.
We are happy to take orders for special occasion cakes, whether it's for a wedding, wedding anniversary, birthday, retirement, christening etc - Personalised birthday cakes can also be made to order. These are extremely popular and excellent value for money.

We hope we can tempt you to sit down to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit before leaving, we probably have the best value refreshments in Bishops Waltham! Many of our customers (some of whom come from as far afield as Southampton) regularly arrange to meet friends for tea or coffee and a good natter at our Market.
